ORA Architects recently secured planning consent for a new 90 Bed Care Home, including Dementia Care, at Camberley, Surrey for their client Caring Homes Group.
The project is not without its challenges. There is an existing 70 bed Care Home that has had numerous extensions and alterations over time that is to be demolished but before that can be done there is a need to remove asbestos and bats while the new proposal has had to take into careful consideration the location of an existing badger sett, extensive mature woodland and challenging levels. Mitigation measures for the bats and badgers have been developed in conjunction with expert advice from the Surrey Wildlife Trust.
This is the seventh Care Home that the Caring Homes Group have commissioned ORA Architects to design and follows on from their other successful Care Homes in England and Scotland. North of the border, ORA Architects have two new Care Homes on site with a third Care Home on the drawing board.
